The RFU has changed the pricing structure for all grades of international matches. In addition they have introduced a Ticket Exchange to allow clubs to sell unwanted tickets to other clubs and organisations at a higher “face value” price, which is at a premium of 25%. Once the initial ticket allocation has taken place, clubs are allowed to sell tickets to the exchange after which a second purchasing window is opened to allow clubs to purchase the unwanted tickets from the exchange. To this end you are asked to indicate via the tick box whether you are prepared to accept tickets from the exchange if your application from the club’s ticket allocation is unsuccessful. The RFU have already indicated that exchange tickets for these matches are likely to be mostly single tickets and numbers will be severely limited.
As ticket numbers for these internationals are severely limited, you are asked to apply for no more than two tickets for each match. ALL cheques will be cashed as soon as applications are received, however this does not give any indication as to whether you will receive tickets or not.
The club tickets will be allocated to members via a ballot, but if you are unsuccessful and you have ticked the RFU Ticket Exchange box on your application form, the club will attempt to obtain these tickets from the exchange up until the time that they are no longer available. If the club is successful in obtaining tickets for you from the RFU Ticket Exchange, you will be required to pay any additional costs before the tickets can be sent out to you. If you are unsuccessful you will receive a refund of your application monies less the £5 administration fee.
You will be notified of your ticket allocation by e-mail once the tickets arrive from the RFU – this is usually about 3 weeks before the first match. Once the tickets have been allocated they will be processed along with any refund cheques and will be sent out shortly afterwards, so you should expect them towards the end of October.
