3rd XV Blow Away The Cobwebs for the 2017/18 Season.
A shake start but the wheels didn't fall off.
A settled 3rd XV with a smattering of new players travelled to Tadley.
New lock, Harry Clifford, touched down after three minutes but after seven, Tadley took the lead with a converted try. A couple of penalties by Rob McKee restored the lead but a second Tadley try and conversion saw the home team 14 -11 up. Max Howard
saw that the first half out with a try and on 40 minutes, the away team had its nose ahead on the scoreboard 14 -16. Frustrating the team manager was the ball not going along the line but he was assured that this would be corrected.
Within one minute of the restart, Max H had raced over for his brace and nine minutes later, achieved his hat-trick to make it 14 -28. Marlow in the ascendency saw a power play involving Matt Goodright racing down the wing and shipping a try scoring pass to CBC. Oxygen was not required on the pitch but may have to be taken when he recalls his touchdown throughout the season and beyond...
With McKee on target with the conversion, it led to being on the lucky right wing for Olivier B to score and McKee to convert.
Tadley were a good test of the Marlow spirit and despite the scoreline, not a pushover team and who will inflict some damage to others in the league.
A 7/10 performance with nods to Clifford, Howard and Wilson.
