From Hilary Ashton

For those who may not know, Nigel sadly passed away on 25th May following a diagnosis of cancer in early April. The diagnosis and progression of the disease came as a huge shock to our whole family. Nigel faced his illness as he faced every challenge in life – with courage, optimism and humour.

We would be very grateful if those who are able could join us in celebrating Nigel’s life at a service at Chilterns Crematorium (HP7 0ND) on Monday 22nd June at 10:00am. Afterwards, there will be food and drinks at Marlow Rugby Club throughout the afternoon, where people are welcome to come and go as they please.

Nigel always loved a colourful shirt, and I would much rather this day be a celebration of his life than an occasion of formality. With that in mind, there is no dress code. Please come in whatever you feel comfortable wearing, whether that's a rugby blazer, a linen suit if the weather is hot, or a bright coloured shirt like Nigel loved to wear.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Nigel’s friends, who have been incredibly helpful in organising so much of the day during what has already been a busy and difficult time for our family.

We look forward to seeing you on Monday 22nd June. If you are planning to attend the service, I would be grateful if you could send me a quick text (07484 374308) or Facebook message, or comment below so that I can keep an eye on numbers.

Thank you,

Hilary, George, Harry and Isabella
